Hit and run

(jd) An attentive witness noticed a traffic accident on Saturday (27.09.) at around 8.10 p.m.: The previously unknown driver of a Sprinter crashed into a Skoda parked in a parking lot on Aktienstraße. The unknown driver then left his vehicle, inspected the damage caused and then continued his journey without fulfilling his obligations as a party to the accident. The witness informed the police and gave a description of the driver as well as the license plate number. The officers met a 71-year-old man from Bünde at the Sprinter's owner's address who showed signs of alcohol consumption. A breath test on site confirmed this assumption, so the 71-year-old was taken to the Bünder police station to have a blood sample taken. The man's driving license was confiscated. After the police measures were completed, he was released on the spot.
